The numbers for each graph came from:  

External datapoints: 

• Gross GHG emissions in 2023, source 
• Expected residual emissions, source 
• CDR target volume in law for 2050, if blank then no CDR target in law 
• CDR need in 2050 from NEGEM project, source 

CDR contribution in 2050 – Carbon Gap: 

The Global participation – equality scenario assumes equal responsibility for each individual and is based on global population statistics. The Upper income – balanced equity scenario assumes only upper-middle and high- income countries should be responsible for CDR efforts, and equally considers member state’s population size, financial ability, and historical emissions. The Upper income – capability scenario is based on metrics which reflect the country’s financial and natural biophysical capacity to contribute to CDR efforts.
